Projects
Personal Project: MediaLog
A personal database for movies, series, books, music and video games. MediaLog separates the shared catalog of works from one's own collection and experiences: you track which editions you own and where they are stored, and rate what you watched, listened to, read or played, optionally together with the audience you shared it with. That history feeds recommendations for what to pick next.
- Kotlin and Spring Boot backend with jOOQ, Flyway and PostgreSQL
- Vue 3 frontend with TypeScript, Vite and Tailwind CSS
- Integrates TMDB, IGDB, MusicBrainz, Open Library and Wikidata, including barcode and ISBN lookup
- Separate personal and audience ratings, with immutable snapshots of who was there
At the moment there is no released source code for this project. Maybe I'll add a GitHub link in the future.
Personal Project: eInk Photo Frame
A smart picture frame for my daughter's grandparents, built with a Raspberry Pi Pico W and an eInk display. A Python script fetches new family photos from a web service every night and displays the photo of the day. The focus was on ultra-low power consumption and a zero-touch user experience.
- Python script for syncing with a web service
- eInk display for sunlight-readable, low-power viewing
- Backend for easy image upload and choosing the day each image is shown
At the moment there is no released source code for this project. Maybe I'll add a GitHub link in the future.
Open Source Contribution: Photobooth Project
My contributions to this popular open-source project included implementing new features like advanced collage layouts and a preview of the live camera image.
